Dad enjoyed trying to answer everyone's questions about his newspaper research, the history of San Luis Obispo area, and his "100 Years Ago" column. Therefore, I've added this section so that others might do that for him.

First I would like to thank you for making this available to all researchers of San Luis history. I wanted to go to the SLO library to find Wilmar's articles and books but I live in northern Cal. I wrote to Wilmar about 10 years ago thanking him for the four years he had put online. I found my great grandparents wedding day and reception, and other events they attended.

I have been doing volunteer work with the Historical Society here in Morro Bay. I have heard stories of neighbors caring for the Nagano farm here during their internment during WW2, and restoring it to them when they were able to return.

Hello Noel, and many thanks for the labour of love in publishing this for all to enjoy. I can't text with my landline, but I'm in the throes of researching the name Hadley. I know all about the tower, the crossing, have talked to SLO museums, and for a book I'm trying to write I have the birth certificate and census for 1910 when my friend was born in Hadley, San Luis Obispo County. I've talked to Pattea Torrence, and know of the ocnnection of your family with Edna, AND when we can run away from Carpinteria or Summerland to Morro Bay, we always dine at Tognazzinis! I tried to get into the 1903 booklet, but can't do the deal with passwords, etc, it seems. Can you help me find who Mr. Hadley was? I understand if you don't have the time.

Thanks so much for writing Judi. If you'll send me your email, we can continue the conversation directly -- my email is [email protected] . But you should NOT need any passwords to access the books or indexes -- though it may take a while to have the books appear on your screen IF you have a slow internet connection. They are rather large PDF files. I've looked in the 1903 book and I do NOT see the Hadley name in the index. I recommend you try to look at the combined indexes of all the booklets and see if you can find it in another year.
